May. 27th, 2015 10:13 pmBeing outside felt weird.
Not in a bad way, but just in a sense that he hadn't really been outside in a long time. There were the times when he'd escaped briefly, but those has always been accompanied by a sense of worry and stress and couldn't really be enjoyed due to those feelings. Today though, today Sirius Black could finally stand outside and not worry about that.
Because he was a free man.
It had been a whirlwind past few weeks. The Department of Mysteries felt like a bad dream, where he'd been severely injured at the hands of his cousin, who'd later escaped much to his chagrin. He'd woken up about a week later in Grimmauld Place to learn that the war had escalated without him, Voldemort had officially moved out into the open, Dumbledore was back at Hogwarts and he was cleared of all charges. That had probably taken the longest time to sink in.
Not that any of it really mattered, because he was free.
Sirius took in a deep breath of fresh air. How nice it was to be outside without having to be in his dog form. He could wander where he wanted and while certainly, he would likely strike terror into the hearts of civilians still, he could laugh about it. He was free.
Taking another breath, he started down the steps and began to wander, not really sure of where he was going until he found himself in a familiar park. And spotted a familiar figure.
"Hello! Lovely day isn't it!"

The bar is mostly empty, though there are a few scattered witches and wizards about, with large bags that show evidence of shopping. It's abruptly silent when Sirius and Lorelei walk in, though Sirius doesn't seem perturbed by it. In fact one might assume he owned the place.

"Huh. Nice setup, I like it."

After all, the general public wasn't the student body of Hogwarts (where would could be hero one day and villain the next). The reveal of his innocence came on the heels that their worst fears had been realized and that their government had been lying to them for a year. Hopefully some of them would come around. Hopefully.
"It is rather cozy. It's a bit nicer when there's more people, but the alley's through here. There's quite a few protections on it."

"Anyway, let's get to the alley. The entrance is just out back."
And he'll lead her through the pub to a brick wall.

"Either there's a hidden door, or we're going climbing," she says, as if opening a third option would be too much to ask; the thought has occurred to her that he could be leading her somewhere distinctly un-safe, and not the location agreed upon, but she's not got a whole lot of things to lose in taking the risk, and for a man who was until recently supposed to be a psychopath, he's actually pretty personable.

He stares at the wall, deep in thought, trying to remember exactly how to do this. It's been a long time, after all. He takes out his wand, tapping on bricks in a sequence.
It takes a few tries but on the fifth go, the bricks begin to move, forming an archway and revealing Diagon Alley.
The alley has seen better days, but there's still a good number of shops open and crowds in the streets. Without the wanted posters and some of the boarded up places, you wouldn't think anything was wrong.
